Vasiliki Konstanti and Marianna Georgiou present a voice and piano recital with works from the Romantic period entitled "Frühlingslied" ("The song of Spring"). Works by Mendelsshon, Schumann, Schubert, Chausson etc, present 'Spring' as a concept with double meaning: hope and the rebirth of nature.

About the Event

Vasiliki Konstanti and Marianna Georgiou present a voice and piano recital with works from the Romantic period entitled "Frühlingslied" ("The song of Spring"). Works by Mendelsshon, Schumann, Schubert, Chausson and more, present 'Spring' as a concept with double meaning: hope and the rebirth of nature. Spring, as one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, symbolizes something hopeful that 'blooms' through a difficult situation, cultivating anticipation for a better tomorrow.

The recital will take place at Technopolis 20 on Wednesday 26th of April at 8pm.

A few words about the musicians

VASILIKI KONSTANTI was born in Limassol, Cyprus. She studied at the National Concervatory (Αnnex Fanagusta), where she received in 2007 her Diplom with honors. In 2013 she graduated from the Music Department of Ionian University, in the Singing sector under the supervision of Ms Roza Poulimenou. She continued her studies in singing in Berlin under the supervision of Mrs Janet Williams and afterwards at the International Opera Studio di Pesaro in Italy with Mrs Inga Balabanova. During her studies she was a member of vocal ensembles participating in many productions and festivals in Greece and Italy. She has also participated as a member of the choir of Paphos Aphrodite Festival: in 2004 at Cosi fan tutte’- W. A. Μozart και το 2016 στο ‘Don Giovanni’ – W. A. Mozart. In 2017 she participated as a choir member in a concert at Berliner Philarmoniker (‘Symphonie Nr. 9 d-Moll op. 125’ - L. V. Beethoven και ‘Messe c-Moll KV 317’ -W. A. Mozart). She has collaborated with renowned conductors and acclaimed orchestras where she interpreted arias from operas in Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Germany. In 2017 was one of the finalists at the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Competition ‘Cypriot Soloists, the First Step’ where she performed under the direction of Petros Stylianou. In 2017 she made her debut singing Giulietta in Bellini's opera ‘I Capuleti e Montecchi’ at Urbania Bramante Theater in Italy under the direction of Salvatore Francavilla. Since 2019 she works at Paphos Music School as a voice teacher.

MARIANNA GEORGIOU was born in 1993 in Paphos, Cyprus. She took her first piano lessons at the age of five and she obtained her first Soloist Piano Diploma (ATCL) at the age of seventeen. She also took classical guitar lessons and she passed her Grade 8 classical singing exams (ABRSM) with distinction. She is a graduate of the University of Nottingham where she studied piano performance under the supervision of Brenda May having received a First-Class Honours for the Bachelor’s degree on Piano Performance. In 2015, she obtained her Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Performance Practices. During her studies, she was a member of various orchestral ensembles and took part in several masterclasses and concerts around the UK and Cyprus. She frequently appears both as a soloist and a chamber musician in concerts around Cyprus. From September 2016, she has also been teaching piano at the Music School of Paphos. Cultivating a special interest in contemporary music and multidisciplinary projects she has appeared in high profile projects such as the closing ceremony of the cultural capital of Europe, Pafos 2017 as well as the artistic project ‘Piano Street: Five Steps to the Future’ dedicated to contemporary piano music.
