The soprano Ekaterina Savva and the pianist Svetla Taskova invite you to an evening dedicated to opera at Technopolis 20, on Wednesday 3rd of May at 19:30. The pieces to be performed are from operas and operettas, by the following composers: G. F. Haendel, W. A. Mozart, G. Bizet, P. Mascagni, F. Lehar, E, Kalman, V. Herbert, H. Lefkowitch, A. Lara.

A few words about the musicians:

Svetla Taskova (piano) is a classically trained pianist with over twenty years of teaching and performing experience. She has graduated in Music, Dance and Fine Arts in the cultural capital of Europe 20Plovdiv, Bulgaria where she has achieved a Master degree in Music, Performance and Piano teacher in music schools. She’s also attained LRSM performance Diploma of the Associated Board of Royal School of Music. Svetla possesses extensive experience in performing individual piano recitals, many concerts with solo violin, flute, violoncello, vocalists, etc. in private, corporate as well as public events. As a bar and lobby lounge pianist she has worked in numerous hotels in Cyprus and abroad. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in private as well as government schools in Bulgaria, Bahrain - where she’s worked for the Bahrain Royal Family and in Cyprus, where she worked as a music teacher in the American Academy Paphos (2004 -2013), the TLC Learning Center (2013-2016) and The International School of Paphos (2016 -present). 

Ekaterina Savva (soprano) is a classically trained vocalist. She graduated in Opera Studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. During her studies in Austria, she studied with the Romanian-Austrian bass Boris Bakov, the American leading mezzo soprano Helene Schneiderman and the Chilean tenor and professor Mario Antonio Diaz Varas. She has done masterclasses with Barbara Bonney, Julie Kaufmann, Corneliu Murgu, Ruggiero Raimondi and collaborated in performances and projects with Alessandro Misciasci, Gaiva Bandzinaite, Vyara Shuperlieva, Ivor Bolton, Yiannis Hadjilouizou, Polis Charalambous, and others. 

After completing her studies in Austria, she won a scholarship for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She continued her Master vocal studies with Ivonne Kenny as her instructor. Also, she studied Russian repertory with the distinguished pianist and accompanist Lada Valesova. 

Ekaterina has appeared on smaller and bigger stages, in the Salzburg Festival, Salzburg Landes Theater, Nicosia Municipal Theatre, Rialto Theater, Kurion Amphitheatre, in different operatic roles and concerts as well as held her solo concerts, charity concerts as well as concerts for German nobility in Austria and Germany. 

Ekaterina teaches classical singing privately in Paphos and her students have been accepted in higher musical institutions. 

Whenever she has had time among engagements, he has also taken part in international singing competitions, among which Sylvester Levay Musical Competition-Munich, Evergreen Fest-Sofia, in which she took First Prize. Recently, she became one of the finalists in the TV vocal competition "The Voice of Bulgaria" 2021. She is currently working with her students; on her author music material as well as performing regularly in diverse venues and events in Cyprus, where she has invitations for upcoming solo and non-solo concerts.
