About the Event

Beside the fact that mandolin is a traditional instrument, the musicians prepared a programme that includes songs from all over the world, such as “La vita e bella”, “El condor pasa”, “La spagnola”, “Habanera” and many more. A few words about the musicians:

Georgia Kompou is the first female bouzouki player. She is an award-winning composer from the Global Music Awards in California and she released albums with Fm Records. She participated in concerts with Thanasis Polykandriotis, Babis Tsertos, Andreatos, Peggy Zina, Theodoridou, Aslanidou, Kraounakis, Dionysiou, Kotsiras, Violaris. Georgia composed music for Babis Tsertos and Nena Venetsanou and also for a foreign film. She is giving lessons for instruments of traditional music. A great milestone in her career was the acquaintance with Mikis Theodorakis and the release of "Zorba" in video clip with his own license.

Konstantinos Economides was born in Limassol. He studied Economics at the University of Macedonia-Thrace and classical guitar at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with professor the distinguished guitarist Kostas Kotsiolis. He participated in various concerts as a soloist but also in Chamber Music Ensembles in Cyprus and abroad.
