About the Event
The AEON Trio, featuring Mariza Anastasiades (soprano), Savvas Christodoulou (flute) and Marianna Georgiou (piano), returns to Markideio Theatre, on Sunday 6th of April 2025 at 6:30pm, with a concert entitled "Mediterranean Echoes". Inspired by the rich musical heritage of Cyprus, the concert showcases contemporary Cypriot and Greek composers.
The aim of this concert is to promote cultural creativity and present rarely performed works. The programme includes compositions by the Cypriots Charis Sophocleous, Evagoras Karageorgis, and the Greek Christos Samaras, along with a world premiere: a Cypriot Suite, featuring traditional Cypriot songs especially arranged for the Trio by the renowned Neoklis Neophytides.
With this concert, the Trio AEON contributes both to the promotion and evolution of this repertoire, offering the audience a unique opportunity to explore new sonic perspectives of the Mediterranean.
