Jazz Standards and Christmas Tunes

UBIA featuring saxophonist Simos Tziakouris, perform classic jazz and Christmas tunes.

This ensemble is an example of collaboration between two different roots of the Cypriot jazz scene. Nihan Gorgu's authentic singing is deeply influenced by her participation in Bi-Communal Jazz Workshops (2008-2013), where she received jazz vocal training from world-wide acknowledged musicians such as Yaala Ballin, Marion Cowings and Chris Byars. 

Her vocal interpretations plus the ability to scat sing creates an interesting musical conversation with Aris Constantinou guitar accompaniment and quarter note strumming aka "chong-chong". 

To this pleasant group comes Simos Tziakouris, to add his cool musical character. Be there to celebrate with us the wonderful world of jazz and set the mood for a festive season!
