About the Event

The soprano Ekaterina Savva and the pianist Ivelina Ruseva invite you to an evening concert at Technopolis 20, on Tuesday, 29th of December, at 7pm, to enjoy warm, romantic arias and songs for the cold Christmas weather.

After their first appearance as a duet, five years ago at Technopolis 20, they return for a beautiful evening, only for a few. In a private, safe setting, with limited seats, the young and talented soprano, Ekaterina Savva, graduate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and the experienced Bulgarian pianist Ivelina Ruseva, will present a programme that will include well known classical works such as ‘Ave Maria’ by S. Schubert, ‘L' amour est un oiseau rebelle’ (opera Carmen) by G. Bizet, ‘Ave Maria’ (opera Otello) by G. Verdi, ‘Meine Lippen, Sie küssen so heiß’ (opera Giuditta) by F. Lehar, ‘Pie Jesu’ (Requiem) by A.L. Webber, ‘Gesù Bambino’ by P. Yon, ‘O Holy night’, ‘The First Noel’, among others.

A few words about the musicians

Ekaterina Savva (soprano): Ekaterina is a soprano singer, who graduated from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, having specialised in opera singing. She also had a scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She has performed in many theatres and festivals, including the Salzburg State Theatre, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Rialto and Markideio theatres in Cyprus. She took part in different masterclasses, amongst them with Barbara Bonney, Alessandro Misciasci, Mario Antonio Diaz Varas, Helene Schneiderman. Her soprano roles are not limited to operatic arias, but she also sings pieces from well-known musical shows.

Ivelina Ruseva (piano) was born in Ruse, Bulgaria. She began studying the piano aged seven and at ten she was accepted into the "Veselin Stogianov" music school in Ruse she participated in many concerts and competitions for solo piano. In 1992 she graduated with honors and began her studies at the "Pancho Vladigerov" National Music Academy in Sofia, from which she also graduated with honors. Twenty years ago, she settled in Paphos where she has developed a sterling reputation both as a performer and a teacher, taking part and organising numerous cultural events and piano recitals and chamber music performances.
