Stylish Jazz vocalist Charlotte Storer brings her Quartet to Technopolis 20, on Wednesday 22 of February 2023 at 8pm for a night of straight-ahead, hard-swinging Jazz.
This group showcases a dynamic collaboration between some of the most exciting musicians on the Cypriot and Tel-Aviv Jazz scene. Join them as they celebrate the American Songbook with composers such as; Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hart as well as bebop composers such as Thelonious Monk, and Tadd Dameron to name a few. Expect earthy swing, fiery uptempo’s, spellbinding ballads and mellow blues, nodding to the dazzling vocals of Jazz’s Golden Era and the adventurous Bop rhythm-sections.

A few words about the musicians:
Charlotte Storer is a British-Cypriot Jazz vocalist who is "On her way to building an international reputation. making friends and fans with her rich tone, bold phrasing and rhythmic creativity."- Cyprus News Report. She has led tours in; Greece, Germany, Israel and The Netherlands with her established contemporaries as well as performing at leading UK venues such Ronnie Scott's and Oliver's Jazz Bar. She forms part of the vibrant jazz movements in Cyprus, London and frequently performs in Tel-Aviv. Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and a Master's in International Development from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her debut album 'Meandering' is due for release in 2023 on NY label Gut String Records.
Jazz guitarist, Ofer Landsberg, was born in Israel and spent his formative years immersed in the New York Jazz scene, playing with legendary greats such as; pianist Frank Hewitt, drummer Jimmy Lovelace, pianist Gil Coggins and Jimmy Wormsworth. Now established as an internationally recognised player, Ofer has led performances at the EFG London Jazz Festival, Bopfest, The Red Sea Festival, Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival, Swansea International Jazz Festival and Kypria Festival while additionally appearing at prestigious venues such as; Ronnie Scotts (UK) Birds Eye Jazz Club (Switzerland) Jazz Club d'Annecy (France), B-Flat Jazz Club (Germany) and JazzCafe Dizzy (Netherlands). Stating Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Dizzy Gillespie and Don Byas as his primary influences, Ofer has distinguished himself as a unique voice firmly grounded in the rich tradition of Bebop and is readily described as a “master musician who refreshes and strengthens its relevance."- London Jazz News.
Marios Spyrou is a professional Cypriot Jazz drummer, based in Nicosia. He completed his Master Degree in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and followed several workshops and private lessons with many important Jazz musicians, as Eric Ineke, Joseph Farnsworth, George Fludas, Leroy Williams, Adam Nussbaum, Barry Harris and Harold Maybern. Currently he is teaching private drum lessons at the English school – Nicosia. Over the last 12 years he has been playing extensively with the top Cypriot and European jazz musicians all over the Island and in other important venues around Europe.
Kyriakos Kestas is a Cypriot double bass player from Limassol who started his music career at the age of 15. Since then, he has been an active member of the Cypriot and Dutch jazz scene, having played in festivals such as the ‘Paradise Jazz Festival’, the ‘Rialto Jazz & Word Music Showcase’, the ‘Leiden Jazz & Blues Festival’ and others. He finished his studies in 2022 at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague.
