Kimonos Art Center, in collaboration with the Pafos Municipality - Δημος Παφου, present the third edition of the Animattikon Project, the international animation festival of Pafos. After two successful editions and with the completion of its Summer Edition, the Animattikon Project returns in its home, the Attikon Theater and proposes a series of activities and events around the art of animation. In the program are included a series of workshops for children and adults, lectures on animation history, presentations by professionals of the field of animation, and many, many screenings in the main venue of the festival (the Attikon Theater) as well as in other venues of the town, such as Technopolis 20, where a presentation entitled ‘Toons and Tunes’ will take place, on Tuesday, 29th of October 2019, at 8pm.
In their program Toons and Tunes, composer Nik Phelps and producer Nancy Denney-Phelps take you time travelling through the history of animation, focusing on the relationship between animation and music. On this voyage, they conduct a lively discussion on the stylistic visions of the directors and composers, telling many enlightening stories on interesting topics, filling you in on fascinating titbits about the films and about their production. Their company, Sprocket Productions, creates lively original music for animators and filmmakers of all types, and with his group the Sprocket Ensemble, Nik also conducts live musical performances with film.
The festival debuts on the 26th of October and lasts until the 3rd of November. The detailed program will be announced soon in the official website of the festival at animattikon.com and in the social media of the Animattikon Project and Kimonos Art Center.
The event is organized under the hospice of ASIFA Cyprus - Cyprus Animation Association and is produced in collaboration with the Municipality of Pafos.
